Graduate Essay

To Myself in 10 Years,

Are you surprised? Haha! Do you know who I am? I am you from the past! I wanted to send this letter to my future self. There’s nothing special to talk about, but I just wanted to say something. Right now, I am doing well and continuing to work towards my dreams. However, there is a little problem. It’s about speaking Japanese. Even though I’ve studied up to the N2 level, I still can’t speak it well. What should I do? I don’t have much time, my vocabulary is limited, and I’m not clear on the grammar, so speaking is difficult. Even though I say I work with Japanese people, there’s hardly any time to converse. Everyone is busy, so even if I want to talk, there’s no free time.

After graduation, I haven’t decided whether to pursue further studies or to find a job. I’ll make that decision when the time comes. I majored in journalism in Vietnam, so I want to work at a newspaper, but it’s very difficult. I’m not sure if I have the skills to meet a company’s requirements. Unfortunately, I am already twenty-five years old, so I wonder if I should be earning money. Since I want to live in Japan for a few years, I hope my future self has passed N2. Please don’t laugh after reading this letter. It’s embarrassing to write a letter to my future self. What are you doing now, my future self? Let’s work hard together!
