I am currently studying hard to enter a specialized nursing school in Japan. I think becoming a care worker is very challenging. However, my reason for wanting to be a care worker is that I want to do a job that helps people, even if just a little.
Actually, three years ago when my grandfather was hospitalized with a severe illness, my family was unable to provide care for him. I thought that if I were a care worker, I could have taken care of him at that time. Therefore, my dream is to work as a care worker. When I discussed this with my family, they said that caregiving is tough and requires considerable physical and mental strength to take care of elderly people. For example, you have to be careful not to hurt your back when helping the elderly to bathe, or you might end up with a slipped disc. Some people might throw objects at you because they become disoriented. I was told about the various difficulties, hardships, and even dangers involved. Listening to them, I understood that caregiving is a more challenging job than I had imagined. Still, my desire to pursue a career in caregiving has not changed. I believe there’s nothing I can’t do.
Once I become a care worker, I aim to provide care tailored to the health conditions of the users. Not only do I want to be skilled technically, but I also aspire to be a “close care worker.” I want to interact with users as if I were a family member, ensuring they don’t feel anxious or worried. I wish to study to become such a care worker.
