Graduate Essay

My Class

I came to Japan in June. So far, I’ve been living in Japan for about four months. Life in Japan is convenient but busy. I study Japanese at school in the morning and go to my part-time job in the afternoon. Although it’s busy, I feel relaxed. Every day, I study in a Japanese N3 class. When I first arrived, I was relieved to find that my Japanese was understandable at school. I took tests and there were class changes for N3. In the previous class, I didn’t talk much because I wasn’t used to it. My classmates called me “quiet.” But gradually I became accustomed to it, and now I talk a lot. Sometimes, we joke around during breaks. For example, we give each other nicknames, talk in Vietnamese, and discuss studies and part-time jobs.
After taking the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in July, my class went to play together at Kobe Port Tower. Before the exam, we were very quiet because we were focused on studying. After buying food at Kobe Port Tower, we took pictures, ate, and talked. It was a lot of fun.
Now I make my own lunch to take to school every day. Recently, my classmates have also started bringing their lunches to eat. Everyone said, “We do it to save time.” Eating together is a lot of fun. Before class time, studying, talking, and eating with everyone, even though it’s busy, is a very comfortable and happy time.
I will graduate next year. I will have to part ways with my classmates. I feel sad. I want to keep in touch. I want to go out together sometimes. I pray for everyone’s success.
