Graduate Essay

Life in Japan

Before coming to Japan, I studied Japanese in a language class and passed Level 5 of the NAT test.

I came to Japan to study Japanese, to study business management at a vocational school, and to find employment at a Japanese company. That’s why I chose to study abroad in Japan.

Before coming to Japan, my family and friends said, “It will be lonely, but do your best and go live in Japan.”

Initially, after arriving in Japan, I enjoyed traveling to various places and partying with seniors. However, I was very lonely without my family and friends from my home country.

Now, having been here for over a year, I have become accustomed to life in Japan. I’m okay now because I’ve made new friends. Initially, I couldn’t eat Japanese food at all. I didn’t find it delicious. But now, I find it delicious. Although there aren’t many fun things to do currently, I like living in Japan. I dislike having little free time and sleep time.

I am now accustomed to the Japanese language school, but I didn’t like it at first because I didn’t understand Japanese well.

I hope my juniors will work hard to improve their Japanese level. Learning kanji is very important for living in Japan. I hope they will also strive hard to learn kanji.

Of course, I also want to do my best.
