Letter to My Future Self
Good morning, 25-year-old Rock. It’s me, 20-year-old Rock. Are you doing well as you read this? Have you got a girlfriend yet? Well, to be honest, I’m not particularly interested in you or writing this letter. But, I have no choice. It’s a hassle, but I have to write it. So, let’s begin.
In 5 years, I’m sure I will have experienced a lot. Work, love… Are you living with clear goals? As for me, if you ask whether I’m perfect, I can’t say yes, but I’m doing my best in my studies and job.
I’m currently taking on a challenge. Remember it? I started it a bit later compared to others, but I’m working hard on it. It’s the third day since I began this challenge. Pretty cool, huh?
Maybe it’s because of yesterday’s trip, but my shoulders are stiff and it’s tough. Yesterday’s trip, what was that? Oh, have you forgotten? We went to Arashiyama with everyone from the shop. It was fun. We rowed boats in the river, admiring the beautiful autumn leaves. Combined with the blue sky, it was truly beautiful.
In 5 years, if everything goes as planned, you’ll already be employed. Are you keeping in touch with everyone from the shop and the Japanese language school? Mr. Huang, Jie, and the people from Indonesia, they must be employed and working somewhere in Japan.
The camping at Mount Rokko was really fun. The food made by Sua was incredibly delicious, and Jie and Berry kept chatting all the time. Mr. Huang, though the oldest, always talked to us in a friendly manner. He was funny, cracking jokes all the time. The Vietnamese sisters were also good at cooking and very kind. Playing and gaming with everyone was a truly happy day.
No matter what difficulties the future holds, continue with the spirit of perseverance, don’t give up, and keep taking on challenges. You are me, after all, so I’m sure you can do it. Take care of the people around you and keep pushing yourself. Not just me, but the 30-year-old and 40-year-old Rock are also cheering for you. Don’t lose to life.
From 20-year-old Rock
