The Most Challenging Part of Life in Japan
Last October, I came to Japan. Before coming here, I studied a bit of Japanese. Life in Japan comes with various problems. The biggest problem for me is not being able to eat Japanese food. Life in Japan is busy, so I often can’t cook for myself. Additionally, there are few Halal food options in Japan. Supermarkets don’t have Halal food, which is very inconvenient. I can’t eat in restaurants either. Of course, I also can’t eat bento (Japanese boxed meals).
As a Muslim, there are rules about food that I must follow. I can’t drink beverages containing alcohol, and I can’t eat foods containing certain meats. Therefore, I have to cook for myself, which is very troublesome. Thus, life in Japan is quite challenging for me. I hope there will be an increase in the availability of Halal food in the future.
