Traveling in Japan

It has been a year and a half since I came to Japan. As a foreign student living in Japan, what do you want to do during your stay? I want to travel. Every time there’s a holiday, I think about where to go next and search for interesting places on the internet. Japan has many long holidays throughout the year, so there are plenty of opportunities to travel to various places.

When I first came to Japan, my first trip was to Himeji Castle. It was magnificent, and rightfully so as a World Cultural Heritage site. Osaka, on the other hand, is quite different from Kobe, with a large number of foreigners and lively streets, including pedestrian zones. Last autumn, I went to Arashiyama in Kyoto to see the autumn leaves.

Have you ever been to Nara? The park with deer is spacious, the scenery is beautiful, and there are many famous temples. You can even feed the deer while touching them in the park.

If you were to travel in Japan, where would you like to go? You might think of places like Tokyo, Mount Fuji, or Hokkaido right away. I had the opportunity to visit Tokyo during the Golden Week in 2018. I took a bus from Osaka to Tokyo. During the bus ride, I could see various landscapes. It was a bit tiring because I spent a long time on the bus.

Upon arrival in Tokyo, I encountered bustling areas. One place I particularly wanted to visit was the Shibuya Crossing. According to the internet, Shibuya Crossing is said to be the busiest pedestrian crossing in Japan. I crossed the road and took photos at the Shibuya Crossing.

Speaking of Shibuya, I can’t leave out Hachiko, the loyal dog. Hachiko was a dog that waited in front of Shibuya Station for its deceased owner’s return for about 10 years. A bronze statue of Hachiko is erected in front of Shibuya Station, and this loyal Hachiko statue has become a symbol of Shibuya.

In Tokyo, I toured various places and tried famous foods. While I was in Tokyo, I also went to Lake Kawaguchi to see Mount Fuji.

Since I’m in Japan, I plan to travel to many more places and explore different aspects of Japan in the future.
