The Biggest Challenge I Faced in Japan
The biggest challenge I faced when I came to Japan was not understanding Japanese at all. After arriving in Japan, I started a part-time job at a bento (lunchbox) company. It was difficult to work at the bento company when I first came to Japan because I couldn’t understand Japanese. I couldn’t understand what the manager was saying. I was anxious and really troubled because I didn’t know what to do. I wanted someone’s help at that time but couldn’t say anything. So, I attended school properly and studied hard. I always talked with my teacher and improved my Japanese. Now, I understand about 80% of what the manager says. After graduating from the Japanese language school, I plan to go to a vocational school and then work at a company that exports cars. My goal is to work hard for four years and then establish a car manufacturing company in Sri Lanka.
