An Unforgettable Experience

Has anyone here ever joined the army? I experienced army life for two years.
In Vietnam, men must join the army when they turn 18.
On September 6, 2013, I joined the army. When I first entered the army, everything was a surprise to me. It was a new life for me. We always had to follow rules and manners. Learning army manners was complicated. Also, we had to respond loudly at all times and there were special salutations for etiquette. For example, when meeting a superior, we had to raise our hands and loudly say the slogan. It was complex, but we had to follow the rules.
The first three months felt very tough. It was physically very demanding. We had to do intense exercises every day. But gradually, my body got stronger. I always thought in my mind that I had to keep trying. Sometimes I felt I couldn’t bear it, but my friends encouraged me to keep going. I made many friends in the army. We all worked hard during the tough training. After a year, army life became incredibly interesting.
As soldiers, we were armed with rifles and trained every day with rifles and dynamite. Using rifles and dynamite was very dangerous, so everyone trained seriously. Finally, we became proficient.
We soldiers had to deploy anywhere as the army, whether it was sunny or rainy. Every day was very tough, but the two years felt both long and short. These two years are memories that I can never forget.
