To You
Winter is about to end. March 15, 2019, was the first day I arrived in Japan. I was filled with worry, nervousness, and happiness. The language, food, and transportation, and even the atmosphere were so different from my country, I worried if I could live here for a long time.
Then, after about a week, the day finally came when I went to meet you. Your name is Kobe Sumiyoshi International Japanese Language School. I wonder what everyone thinks when they meet you for the first time. Maybe, like me, some are a bit surprised. You looked like a small house, a building with just three floors and no special facilities. Actually, you are the simplest school I have ever studied at.
Since then, my daily routine has been to wake up in the morning, go to you, study, and then go back home. By the way, do you know what kind of person I am? I am not a good student, and my academic ability is not high. I was placed in the N3 class. Every day, I chat with the person next to me and get told off by the teacher, “You are noisy. Please be quiet.”
Now, a year is about to pass. I have realized that you are now like a close friend. Do you still remember the cherry blossoms in bloom opposite us when we met? I love you with the old stone walls, the leaning telegraph poles, and the scent of cherry trees.
You taught me that we must not dwell on the past or wait for the future, but live strongly in the present moment. Therefore, I will continue to study and work hard, making every day enjoyable and giving my all to everything.
Wherever I am in the future, I will always remember you and the teachers. Thank you.
