Ten years ago, I had a dream. A dream to become a Japanese language teacher. After graduating from a Japanese language school, I planned to study communication at a vocational school in Kobe, but did I study properly? After graduating, I wanted to work in Japan for three years, but did I find a job? It’s been 10 years since I came to Japan. Time flies so fast. Ten years ago, I prepared for various things to enter vocational school, which made me think of my parents back home and my future.
Since my childhood, I have liked Japanese movies and Korean food. So, I wanted to go to Japan or Korea. After much thought, I decided to go to Japan. It was my decision. It was a very difficult thing for me because I had to do everything on my own. Since coming to Japan, it feels like time has passed in the blink of an eye, yet it also feels very long. But thinking about the time that has passed, I have come to understand many things.
I learned important things from the small details I didn’t notice before, like being punctual and communicating with people. Even now, sometimes when I don’t want to do anything and work gets busy, I feel like going back to my country. But when I remember why I came to Japan, what I like, what I want to do, and what I want to be in the future, I find the motivation to keep trying.
