I will write about three things that have been enjoyable for me since coming to Japan.
First, living alone. I’ve become able to decide everything by myself and have freedom. Even when things are tough, not relying on anyone and striving on my own has made me stronger, and this has been the best part.
Second, gradually understanding Japanese. When I first came to Japan, it was difficult as I couldn’t even order what I wanted in restaurants, and once I accidentally bought soy sauce instead of oil at a supermarket. Also, at work, initially I couldn’t understand Japanese, and it was troublesome when I couldn’t follow orders and got scolded. Now, as my Japanese has improved and I can understand conversations, it’s enjoyable.
Third, participating in a soccer match to support my country. In my country, the people who cannot accept the military coup are opposing the army, leading to a civil war. The match was held to raise funds for the citizens struggling due to the war and to buy weapons for the groups opposing the army. Although we lost the match, it was fun to participate for my country’s sake and it was great meeting my Burmese friends.
I’ve had various enjoyable experiences since coming to Japan, and I hope for more in the future.
