Graduate Essay

To Teachers and Juniors

I was born in a small town in Vietnam. When I was born, my town was still undeveloped and did not even have electricity. As a child, I heard a proverb that means ‘Your future depends on many things, but most of it depends on you.’ Whether this proverb is true or not depends on one’s perspective. Hearing it made me realize the importance of studying.

So, I studied hard and passionately every day, which led me to opportunities. Now, I have the chance to study in Japan as an international student. I am very happy to learn more about Japan and its people. Japan is known not only as the ‘Land of Cherry Blossoms’ but also as the ‘Land of the Rising Sun.’ Furthermore, it is famous for its incredibly attractive anime. But what impresses me the most is the Japanese people’s diligence and their attitude towards following rules.

I have been studying Japanese for about a year, but it’s challenging due to the coronavirus pandemic. I can’t attend classes in person or meet classmates. However, I feel that the teachers are warm and enthusiastic, even in online classes. At first, I was shy and worried that I wouldn’t understand everything the teacher said, but the teachers gradually taught me specific methods, and now I understand much better.

I pray every day that I can go to Japan soon after the coronavirus subsides. I want to talk about life in Japan and experiences there with teachers and friends, and I also want to try Japanese food. I think it’s hard to teach both online and offline, but I want to express my gratitude to the teachers who always teach with a smile.

After graduating from Kobe Sumiyoshi International Japanese Language School, I plan to go to a vocational school. It will be more challenging from now on, but I want to keep working hard every day. I want to be a person with a broad perspective, independent, and able to help those in need.

I won’t give up, no matter what. Everyone has dreams. Living a good life in the future is everyone’s dream. It’s a dream, but realizing it is a tough journey. However, life is only once, so let’s live without regrets.

I have something to say to the juniors. It is not just about dreaming, but standing up and realizing your dreams. Nothing is impossible if you put in the effort.

Thank you ☆
