To Myself in 10 Years
Hey, how are you? Future me. I am 21 years old. In other words, I am you, 10 years ago. If you’re reading this letter, it means you’re still alive, right? Of course, you are. Just kidding, don’t get upset. Sorry! I’ll write seriously now.
Reading this letter, remember all the hardships and efforts you’ve faced, and never forget them. They are the steps in the journey that helped you grow. Well, it’s okay to forget not-so-good memories… But please don’t forget those who helped you in times of trouble and those who stayed by your side and encouraged you.
By the way, how are things going now? How about your work, love, and family? Surely, you’re married as planned by now, right? Congratulations!! But don’t get down if you’re not. Surely, you will find someone good soon.
How are your parents? Are they healthy? Please don’t worry or sadden them. Take good care of your family. Don’t neglect your wife and children just because you’re busy.
How’s work? Is it going well? I just passed the entrance exam to an IT vocational school. So, in the future, you must be working in IT. Please don’t quit along the way. I want you to persevere no matter how tough it gets. I’ve asked for a lot, but please promise to keep all of them.
Actually, there’s one more thing I want to ask. It’s a request that might take some time. I want you to stop resenting your first love. First love can leave a deep impression, and sometimes it might never be forgotten. Even if you know you can’t live with her in the future, isn’t it enough to cherish the moments you spent with her? Didn’t she help you realize your shortcomings? This experience will surely be useful in your future life. Be grateful. That’s what I think now. You should think the same.
That’s all I wanted to say to you. Thanks for listening to me.
To the me of 10 years later. Keep it up!!
