Small Things
Everyone has their own dreams. “Dream” is a simple and short word, yet it’s filled with people’s passions. Some dream of becoming a doctor, a teacher, or the president of a certain company. Others have smaller dreams, like owning a watch or wearing a beautiful wedding dress. However, my dream might be a little different from everyone else’s.
I dream of having a house, but not for myself. I want it to be a home for homeless children. In Vietnam, children abandoned by their parents from birth make a living by selling lottery tickets or begging passersby for money. I see these children every day, and their sight deeply saddens me.
Furthermore, many children around the world lack food and clothing. I always think about contributing to help these children. I want to build homes for children not only in Vietnam but all over the world. I realize that this dream is not easy to achieve.
As a child, I loved helping people in need and often participated in volunteer activities. Even though I did small things, it made me happy to see people delighted. My grandmother always said that one can help others even without money. Her actions of always helping others have influenced me.
I want to help anyone in need, whether they are elderly or children. It’s important to learn how to assist in ways that truly benefit those in need.
When I do something for someone, I feel a surge of energy and happiness throughout the day. The fact that I want to help others will always remain, never fading away. Every time I think this, I believe that no matter how difficult it is to achieve a dream, one should not give up. To accomplish this, I need to acquire various kinds of knowledge, not just through studying.
