My name is Win, and I am from Myanmar. Now, I would like to introduce my hobby. Everyone has various hobbies, and I have mine too. My hobby is playing the guitar and singing, but I have another special hobby.
It is volunteering.
Volunteering brings me true joy. Since I was a child, I have volunteered whenever I had free time. There are various volunteering activities in my country, and I would like to introduce some that I have participated in.
In my town, there are many garbage bins. Along with my friends, I have volunteered to pick up trash and put it in those bins to keep the town clean. Sometimes, I have gone to the temple to clean toilets or wash the robes of the monks.
In my country, we also have New Year’s celebrations. After New Year’s, I have volunteered to go to elderly people’s homes to wash their hair and cut their nails.
Since volunteering is my hobby, I have participated in many activities. But there is one volunteering experience that I can never forget, and I would like to write about it.
On May 2, 2008, a very large cyclone hit Myanmar. Many people died, and many houses were destroyed. However, my town was not much affected.
I went to the affected towns and distributed food to the people there. I also helped in rebuilding houses. Thinking about the people who suffered from the disaster made me very sad. That volunteering experience is still unforgettable for me.
I intend to volunteer until I die. It is my hobby, so I will continue as long as I feel satisfied.
This hobby comes from the heart.
